Nintendo Download – April 2, 2026: Darwin’s Paradox Leads This Week’s Drop

Another Tuesday means another Nintendo Download report for North America. And honestly? This week’s lineup is surprisingly stacked.

We’re getting Darwin’s Paradox on Switch 2, People of Note, Super Meat Boy 3D, and like 30+ other games across both platforms. Plus a free Mario Kart World update and a Tetris 99 event that Super Mario Galaxy fans are going to lose their minds over.

Let me break down everything hitting the eShop this week – the good, the weird, and the “wait, that’s actually only $2.99?”

Nintendo Download – Switch 2 Games Coming This Week

The Nintendo Download for Switch 2 has three new titles this week. Small batch, but each one looks interesting in its own way.

Darwin’s Paradox – $24.99 (out now)

This is the headliner. You play as an octopus trying to survive and evolve in a messed-up underwater lab. Think Subnautica meets Limbo. I’ve been watching previews and the art style is gorgeous – dark, moody, with bioluminescent everything.

The hook? You solve puzzles by using your environment. Grab objects with your tentacles, squeeze through tiny gaps, distract predators. Looks like about 8-10 hours of gameplay. For $25, that’s fair.

People of Note – $24.99 (available April 7)

Musical puzzle game. You’re a composer traveling through different eras of music history – classical, jazz, electronic, you name it. Each level has you arranging notes to solve rhythm-based puzzles.

Not usually my thing, but the demo I tried at PAX last year was surprisingly addictive. My wife (who’s a pianist) is way more excited about this than me, so that’s probably your audience.

Super Meat Boy 3D – $24.99 (out now)

Yeah, you read that right. Meat Boy in 3D. Team Meat finally did it.

The original Super Meat Boy was brutally hard. This one takes that difficulty and adds a third dimension. Same tight controls, same instant respawns, but now you’re dodging saw blades in full 3D space.

I’ve played about an hour so far. It’s tough. Like, throw-your-controller tough. But fair. You’ll die 100 times on one level and still want to try again. Classic Meat Boy.

Nintendo Download – Full Switch eShop List for April 2, 2026

Alright, here’s the complete Nintendo Download list for regular Switch this week. Prices and release dates included because nobody likes clicking through five pages to find out something costs $4.99.

  • Cozy Bay Hike – $4.99 (April 4)
  • Hidden Around the World – $7.99 (April 6)
  • ChainStaff – $14.99 (April 8)

Worth your time picks:

In my opinion, Manafinder ($11.99) is the hidden gem here. Pixel art RPG with a job system similar to Final Fantasy V. Reviews from the Steam version are solid – 85% positive.

Stunt Race for $2.99 is basically free. It’s a simple arcade racer, nothing groundbreaking, but for the price of a coffee? Worth a download.

Skip Garden Work Simulator 2026. I played the 2025 version and it was buggy and boring. Unless you really, really love virtual lawn mowing.

Marvel Maximum Collection – What’s Actually In It?

$24.99 for a Marvel collection on Switch. Is it worth it?

Here’s what you get:

  • Marvel Ultimate Alliance
  • Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
  • Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes
  • X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse

No online multiplayer on the Ultimate Alliance games, which is disappointing. But local co-op works fine. If you’re a Marvel fan who missed these on previous consoles, $25 for four games is decent.

Just don’t expect any upgrades. These are straight ports, not remasters.

Duck Battle Royale – Yes, That’s Real

Duck Battle Royale. $7.99. You’re a duck. 20 other ducks. Last duck standing.

It’s as ridiculous as it sounds. And honestly? Kind of fun in short bursts. My nephew made me play this for two hours last weekend. The controls are janky but the chaos is real.

Don’t buy this expecting a competitive experience. Buy it to laugh with friends.
